Academic Scholarships

Academic Scholarships are given to the students who graduated valedictorian, salutatorian and honorable mention in senior high school.

Eligibility

Valedictorian - Student must pass the College Entrance Examination and submit a Certification from the Senior High School Principal that he/she has graduated as class valedictorian.

Salutatorian - Student must pass the College Entrance Examination and submit a Certification from the Senior High School Principal that he/she has graduated as class salutatorian.

Honorable Mention - Student must pass the College Entrance Examination and submit a Certification from the Senior High School Principal that he/she has graduated as 1st, 2nd, 3rd honorable mention.

Benefits

Valedictorian - Student will avail a 100% discount in tuition fees and 100% miscellaneous fees excluding RLE and Trust Funds.

Salutatorian - Student will avail a 75% discount in tuition fees and 75% miscellaneous fees excluding RLE and Trust Funds.

Honorable Mention - Student will avail a 25% discount in tuition fees only.

Retention

Valedictorian - Student must maintain a Cumulative Weighted Grade Average of 93% and a minimum grade of 90% per subject.

Salutatorian - Student must maintain a Cumulative Weighted Grade Average of 91% and a minimum grade of 88% per subject.

Honorable Mention - Student must maintain a Cumulative Weighted Grade Average of 88% and a minimum grade of 85% per subject.

Alumni Dependent Scholarship

Eligibility

Student must be a direct dependent of an alumna or alumnus of Riverside College, must have an annual gross family income of not more than Php 72,000.00, must earn Rank 5 in the entrance exam; must belong to the top 20% of the graduating class of at least 50 students and must be actively involved in alumni activities and community outreach program of the Alumni Association.

Benefits

Student will avail a 100% discount in tuition fees and 100% discount in miscellaneous fees.

Retention

Student must have cumulative weighted grade average (CWGA) of 89% and a minimum grade of 85% per subject. Student must render eight (8) hours weekly work duty and must actively participate in alumni activities and community outreach programs of RCAAI.

Alumni Employee Dependent Scholarship

Eligibility

Student must be a direct dependent of an alumna or alumnus of Riverside College, must have an annual gross family income of not more than Php 72,000.00, must earn Rank 5 in the entrance exam; must belong to the top 20% of the graduating class of at least 50 students and must be actively involved in alumni activities and community outreach program of the Alumni Association.

Benefits

Student will avail a discount in miscellaneous Fees depending on weighted grade average (WGA) maintained.

  • WGA of 85-88% - 50%
  • WGA of 89-91% - 75%
  • WGA of 92-95% - 100%

Retention

Student must have cumulative weighted grade average (CWGA) of 88% and a minimum grade of 85% per subject. Student must render eight (8) hours weekly work duty and must actively participate in alumni activities and community outreach programs of RCAAI.

Dr. Pablo O. Torre Foundation Scholarship

Eligibility

Freshmen - Student must have a 4th year high school average of at least 85%, must have an annual gross family income of not more than Php 72,000.00 and must submit a letter of application addressed to the President of the Foundation.

Upperclassmen - Student must be at least a freshman during the time of application for scholarship and must have a weighted grade average of at least 85% with no grade lower than 80% during the previous semester.

Benefits

Freshmen - Student will avail a 100% discount in tuition fees and 100% discount in miscellaneous fees (excluding RLE/fees under the Trust Fund).

Upperclassmen - Student will avail a 100% discount in tuition fees and 100% discount in miscellaneous fees (excluding RLE/fees under the Trust Fund).

Retention

Freshmen - Student must have cumulative weighted grade average (CWGA) of 85% and a minimum grade of 80% per subject. Student must render eight (8) hours weekly work duty (failure to comply with the required hours shall be a ground for disqualification).

Upperclassmen - Student must have cumulative weighted grade average (CWGA) of 85% and a minimum grade of 80% per subject. Student must render eight (8) hours weekly work duty (failure to comply with the required hours shall be a ground for disqualification).

Performing Arts Scholarship

Eligibility

Student must submit a letter of application to the Admissions and Scholarship Officer, must exhibit exceptional skills in music, drama and dance, must submit a letter of recommendation from the Senior High School Principal or Guidance Officer, must render a minimum of six hours of practice per week during the regular semester and two hours per week during the summer term.

Benefits

Student will avail a 100% discount in tuition fees.

Retention

Student must not have a failing grade and must maintain a grade not below 80% in professional subjects.

Resident Scholarship

Resident Scholarship is given to students who qualified for the required academic performance rating.

Eligibility

Student should not be a transferee, or an irregular student or second courser and must have a residency of at least two semesters and one summer term for Nursing and two semesters for other courses.

Benefits

Student will avail a 100% discount in tuition fees only.

Retention

Student must maintain a Cumulative Weighted Grade Average of 92% and a minimum grade of 88% per subject.

Varsity Sports Scholarship

Eligibility

Student must be a varsity athlete during the time he/she is applying for a scholarship, must have an academic load of at least 18 unites per semester and 6 units during the summer term, must submit a letter of recommendation from his/her coach and sports adviser.

Benefits

Discount in tuition fess will depend upon the evaluation of the sports adviser.

Retention

Student must be a consistent varsity player, must have passed all subjects enrolled in, must complete the degree program in a minimum of four years and a maximum of five for a baccalaureate program and a minimum of two years and a maximum of three years for a certificate program.

Student must also obtain a rating of 90% or better from his/her sports adviser based on attendance in practices and performance during practices and actual games and competitions and must render a minimum of six hours of practice per week during the regular semester and two hours per week during the summer term.

Work Aide Grant

This grant excludes Nursing, Midwifery, Health Aide Students, Pharmacy Services NC II, and Biomedical Equipment Servicing NC II.

Eligibility

Student must have a Senior High School average of at least 80%, gross family income of not more than 72,000.00, submit a letter of application addressed to the Scholarships Committee and must be willing to render 10 hours weekly work assignment to comply the 150 duty hours per semester.

Benefits

Student will avail a 100% discount in tuition fees and 100% miscellaneous fees excluding RLE and Trust Funds.

Retention

Student must maintain a Cumulative Weighted Grade Average of 83%, a minimum grade of 80% per subject and a supervisor’s evaluation of 85%.
