Community Extension

The Riverside College Community Extension Office

As an institution of higher learning, Riverside College shares the view that authentic education encompasses instruction, research and community extension. Hence, the Community Extension Office was created as an expression of the school's commitment towards maintaining the standards of higher education. The essence of this approach is to provide the students and faculty the opportunity of integrating theory and practice through community extension while concurrently responding to the needs of the larger society through community service and research initiatives.

This office serves as the direct link between the school and its partner communities, working together and with preference for the following areas of concern:

  • Health and Nutrition
  • Environment
  • Values Education & Leadership Building
  • Community Organizing
  • Skills and Livelihood Development

It envisions to become the center of distinction in the delivery of wholistic and quality community healthcare services towards a progressive, dynamic, and empowered community.

As the community extension arm of the institution, the Community Extension Office is directly responsible for planning, implementing and sustaining the outreach and community service program of Riverside College. In coordination with the different units of the school and in partnership with the external community and other organizations, the office conceives and executes its community extension program aimed at intensifying the involvement of the different sectors of the school in outreach projects and activities.
